Mar 22, 2019 06:05PM ● By Melissa Emerzian

Free Tour of Loomis Art Studios Features a Unique Array of Art

Sixteen years ago, a small group of Loomis Basin artists decided to open their studios on Mother’s Day weekend to share art and the fantastic beauty of our area. Thus was born the “Loomis Art Loop Open Studios Tour”. This year's tour takes place on the weekend of May 11th & 12th (Mother’s Day weekend) from 10 am to 5 pm. Meet 19 professional artists at 4 stop who are ready to show you their work, share their techniques, and “talk art.” Download a map for the tour, read artist profiles, and find website links here.  Each location is within ten minutes of the next, enabling a leisurely way to enjoy fine art and the picturesque Loomis Basin area.

Art in a variety of media will delight visitors. This year’s tour includes the following artists in their studios along with guest artists: Paula Amerine, Lisa Bone, Cindy Bonito, Sean Bonito, Judy Butler, Sandy Delehanty, Brenda Dominguez, John Dominguez, Ryan Dominguez, Phill Evans, Steve Harrington, Doug Horton, Lori Humphrey, Louise Noel, Jen Norpchen, Keith Smith, Merridee Joan Smith, Janet Paehlig, and Ann Ranlett.
Please refer to the artist profiles and web site links on the  Loomis Art Loop  website for more detailed descriptions of the artists' work.

Paintings include acrylics, encaustics, pastel and oil. Drawings in colored pencil and graphite are the specialties of some of our artists. The clay arts on display will include pottery, raku, and horse-hair imprinted ceramics. Additional 3-dimensional works in metal sculpture, fused glass, and fanciful gourd creatures will be exhibited. Unique jewelry created of metal and stones, beads, and fused glass are offered at three of the studio locations. Guests will also be treated to scratchboard, fiber and batik art, silk painting, printmaking, and mosaic.
