Introduction to Whole Wheat Sourdough
If you have wondered why wheat has changed or how to make some of the healthiest bread available, this is the class for you.
Join us at Gut Check Nutritional Therapy with Living Bread Baker’s own Jenny Prior, where we will cover types of wheat, how it has changed, anatomy of a wheat berry, milling wheat at home, sourcing wheat from sustainable farms and mills, how to adjust for whole wheat in baking, and the nutritional benefits of freshly milled whole wheat.
In this class you will receive a 500g bag of freshly milled hard red wheat from a sustainable small farm in Washington as well as detailed notes to bake your own whole wheat bread at home. And of course, we will taste a beautiful loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread! As a class participant, you will have access to ongoing support from Living Bread Baker (Jenny) as you practice at home.
About your instructor: Living Bread Baker teaches amateur and home bakers how to make delicious and easily digestible sourdough bread. Classes support ongoing work with foster youth in the Sacramento region. Living Bread Baker courses are taught by Jenny Prior who was trained by one of the foremost sourdough baking teachers based out of the English countryside and is part of an international initiative called Sourdough Sisters.
